In Xtension this month, we've been looking at God giving us gifts to use. We need to remember that these gifts may not leap out at us straight away. Some people have obviously natural talent for something, while others may need to look a bit deeper.
It's important not to get demoralised when wondering what your gifts are. Some gifts can develop as you grow up, and may not properly surface till you're older. Also, your gifting may be less about what practically you might be good at, but it may instead be a people oriented gift. Ie something that you do naturally as part of your personality= you might be an encourager, or you might always care about others, or be very generous. These are gifts that are often overlooked, and instead emphasis is placed on whether you are brilliant at specific subjects in school
You might not get any A stars for using these type of gifts, but you will feel fulfilled in knowing that you are serving others and God in ways that are important
1 Peter 4:10 in the New International Version of the bible says; Each one should use whatever gift they have received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms
That means that God's goodness and awesomeness is seen in many different ways and is shown to others when we use our gifts to help them
Have a think about what gifts you might have and how you can develop them and use them.
